Farm, Pawint Soontarachun (1999)
Thai artist who was born and raised in Thailand. He studied under many prominent art professors in Thailand, Chiang-Mai during his late teens then later decided to pursue his artistic career in Italy. He studied in Italy for 6 years and received both Bachelors and Masters from Florence Classical Arts Academy.
Farm started art very late at the tender age of 17, born in a country where classical art traditions were not prominent, made it difficult to pursue a path in this field. However, his surroundings in Chiang-Mai were lucky to be blessed with such professors who trained him in this field enough to be able to tackle the next step which was Italy.
He then decided to study under the classical rigorous didactic methods of the Russian academy which was passed down through several hundreds of years from Europe, Renaissance period. He then went on to study at Florence Classical Arts Academy under many distinguished professors from Russia whom many held magistrate and doctorate degree from the prestigious Imperial Academy of Arts aka Repin Academy. Throughout the years he studied, he was exalted among his peers especially in figurative painting and drawing which later influenced his ,artistic vision. Farm has unique sense of color and light among his peers which made him stood out combined with the accurate and stylistic anatomy skills.
Farm’s artworks are influenced by the classical approach of some artist he loves such as Nicolai Fechin, Nicolai Blokhin, JoaquÃn Sorolla, and Anders Zorn. He aims to combine some of the modern techniques with the classical techniques he studied to envision his art of the female body.
As he approaches the final years of his study, he has been given the position of Professor assistant which he then started to accumulate experience in teaching his craft to other international students attending the academy. Farm has since graduated from the academy and earned Bachelors and Masters with honors and is now residing in Thailand. He now aims to soon distinguish himself from other Thai artists and continue in his endeavor to capture the beauty of the female form. Integrating the western style with exclusively live asian models and spreading the knowledge he has gained overseas to many students in Thailand and also has plans to launch an academy in the near future.
